Product Description
The SIMULFLEX™ mattress replacement offers pressure
redistribution and comprises of a reversible 4-way turn, high
resilience polyurethane core, protected by a 2-way stretch, vapour
permeable, water resistant cover.

A foam squab is available for use with in-built bed extensions, for
more details refer to the user leaflet 609903.
Clinical applications
Indications for use
SIMULFLEX 120 is indicated for users up to 120 kg (264 lbs/
19 stones). Suitable for a wide range of patients including those
with superficial ulcers (in association with an individualised plan of
care).
These are guidelines only and should not replace clinical
experience or judgement. If there is no improvement in the
patient's condition, specialist advice should be sought.
The cover of this product is vapour permeable but not air
permeable and may present a suffocation risk. It is the
responsibility of the care giver to ensure that the user can use this
product safely.
Instructions for use
1. Remove all packaging.
2. Lay the SIMULFLEX mattress replacement onto the bed
frame, ensuring that there are no sharp edges which may rip
the cover.
DO NOT USE THE MATTRESS WITHOUT A COVER
It provides a protective barrier, which helps to extend the life of the
product.
3. Ensure that the correct month is showing on the
TURNTABLE™ indicator at the foot end of the mattress. If the
correct month is not showing, rotate or turn the mattress so
that the correct month is at the foot end. Months are indicated
as follows:
1/12 = January
2/12 = February etc.
4. Use the TURNTABLE indicator as a guide for the monthly
rotation and turning of the mattress. This helps to even out
wear of the mattress and to extend the life of the product.

Decontamination
To Clean The Cover
Wipe all exposed surfaces with a cloth which has been moistened
in simple detergent and water. Ensure to remove any organic
debris that may be adherent to the surfaces. Dry.
To Disinfect The Cover
For disinfection we recommend a chlorine-releasing agent such as
NaOCl or NaDCC diluted to 1,000 ppm (range may vary between
250 & 10,000 ppm depending on contamination status and local
policy).
Alternatively use a cloth moistened with alcohol (70%) and allow
to air dry.
Routine checks
The foam core and cover should be inspected regularly for any
signs of damage, soiling or staining.
Disposal
For ultimate disposal of SIMULFLEX products, we recommend
the following advice be followed. However, regardless of this,
please ensure that local regulations and, if applicable, healthcare
facility standard operating procedures are followed.

Foam cores suspected of contamination should be disposed
of as clinical waste.
•
Foam cores not suspected of contamination may be disposed
of through landfill waste.
