away from the discharge opening.
15) Do not lift or transport the lawnmower when the motor is running.
16) Stop the machine and remove plug from the socket. Make sure that all
moving parts have come to a complete stop:
– w hen transporting the machine;
– w henever you leave the machine.
– before clearing blockages or unclogging chute;
– b efore checking, cleaning or working on the machine;
– a fter striking a foreign object. Inspect the machine for damage and make
repairs before restarting and operating the machine;
If the machine starts to vibrate abnormally (check immediately):
– i nspect for damage;
– r eplace or repair any damaged parts at a specialised centre;
– c heck for and tighten any loose parts.
17) Stop the motor:
– w henever you remove or reattach the grass-catcher;
– w henever you adjust the cutting height.
18) When mowing, always keep a safe distance from the rotary blade, giv-
en by the length of the handle.
19) WARNING - If something breaks or an accident occurs during mow-
ing, turn off the motor immediately and move the machine away to prevent
further damage; if an accident occurs with injuries or third parties are in-
jured, carry out the first aid measures most suitable for the situation imme-
diately and contact the medical authorities for any necessary health care.
Carefully remove any debris that might cause damage or harm persons or
animals should it not be seen.
D) MAINTENANCE AND STORAGE
1) Keep all nuts and screws tight to be sure the machine is always in safe
working condition. Routine maintenance is essential for safety and for
maintaining a high performance level.
2) Check the stone-guard and grass-catcher frequently for wear or de-
terioration.
3) Be careful during adjustment of the machine to prevent entrapment of
the fingers between moving blades and fixed parts of the machine.
4) Always allow the machine to cool down before storing.
5) When servicing the blades be aware that, even though the power sourc-
es is switched off, the blades can still be moved.
6) For safety reasons, never use the machine when it has worn or dam-
aged parts. Parts must be replaced and not repaired. Use original spare
parts. Parts that are not of the same quality can damage the equipment
and impair your safety.
7) To reduce fire hazards, keep lawnmower and in particular, the motor,
free of grass, leaves, or excessive grease. Never leave containers with cut
grass inside a storage area.
E) GENERAL PRECAUTIONS
1) Before each use, check the machine for damage. Any repairs must be
done at a specialised centre. Turn off the machine and disconnect the plug
from the socket if the machine begins to vibrate abnormally, then contact a
specialised centre for inspection.
2) Keep both hands on the grip during start up.
3) Parts subject to wear must only be replaced at a specialised centre.
4) Never use the machine if the power cable or extension cable are dam-
aged or worn.
5) Never connect a damaged cable to a mains socket and never touch a
damaged cable that is connected to the mains socket. Damaged or dete-
riorated cables may cause contact with energised parts.
6) Do not touch the blade until the machine is disconnected from the
mains socket and that the blade is completely still.
7) Keep the extension cable away from the blade. The blade can damage
the cable and cause contact with energised parts.
8) Carefully read the instructions for using the machine safely.
9) Power up the machine using a differential switch (RCD - Residual
Current Device) with a tripping current of max. 30 mA.
10) If the machine's power cable is damaged, it can only be replaced
with an original spare part by your dealer or an authorised service centre.
F) ADDITIONAL WARNINGS
1) The permanent connection of any electrical equipment to the mains
of a building must be installed by a qualified electrician in conformity with
the regulations in force. Incorrect wiring can cause serious injury and even
death.
2) WARNING: DANGER! Moisture and electricity are not compatible:
– a lways handle and connect electric cables in dry conditions;
– never allow electric sockets or cables to contact wet areas (puddles or
wet grass);
– c onnections between cables and sockets must always be watertight.
Only use extension leads with intact, watertight and approved sockets
sold on the market.
3) The quality of the extension leads must be no less than H07RN-F or
H07VV-F, with a minimum section of 1.5 mm
mum length of 25 m.
4) Attach the extension lead to the cable fastener before starting the ma-
chine.
5) Before starting work, fit the discharge guards (grass-catcher or stone-
guard).
6) Never run the lawnmower over the electric cable. While mowing, always
drag the cable behind the lawnmower on the side where grass has already
been cut. Use the cable fastener to prevent the cable from disconnecting
accidentally as indicated in this manual. Make sure it is connected to the
socket without being forced.
7) Never use the power cable to pull the lawnmower or pull the cable to
remove the plug. Do not expose the cable to sources of heat, or let it come
into contact with oil, solvents and sharp objects.
8) Wear work gloves for disassembling and reassembling blades.
9) Keep the blade balanced during sharpening. All work on the blade (dis-
assembly, sharpening, balancing, reassembly and/or replacing) are de-
manding jobs that require special skills as well as special tools. For safety
reasons, these jobs are best carried out at a specialised centre.
G) TRANSPORTATION AND HANDLING
1) Whenever the machine is to be handled, lifted, transported or tilted
you must:
– w ear sturdy work gloves;
– g rasp the machine at the points that offer a safe grip, taking account of
the weight and its distribution.
– u se an appropriate number of people for the weight of the machine and
the characteristics of the vehicle or the place where it must be placed
or collected.
2) During transport, fasten the machine securely with cables or chains.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
NOTE - The number which precedes each paragraph links the ref-
erences in the text to the respective illustrations (listed on page 2
and following pages).
1. COMPLETE ASSEMBLY
NOTE - The machine can be supplied with some parts already as-
sembled.
WARNING - Unpacking and completing the assembly should be
done on a flat and stable surface, with enough space for moving
the machine and its packaging, always using suitable equipment.
Disposal of the packaging should be done in accordance with the
local regulations in force.

Handle assembly ("I" Type)
Insert the lower right (1) and left (2) parts of the handle into the respec-
tive holes and fasten them in place with the supplied screws (3) and the
washers (4).
Apply the cable fastener (4) to the top of the handle (5) in the indicated po-
sition and fasten it with the supplied screw (6) and bolt (7).
Fasten the top of the handle (5) to the bottom parts using the knobs (8) and
the supplied nuts and bolts as shown, using one of the two holes provided
for adjusting the height of the handle to the operator's stature.
Align the slot on the switch (9) to the support guide (10) and push the
switch (9) in the direction indicated by the arrows as far as possible, mak-
ing sure it fits securely.
Fit the cable fastener (11) in the indicated position and then attach the
cable (12).

Handle assembly ("II" Type)
Assemble the lower right (1) and left (2) parts of the handle to the screws
(3a) protruding from the chassis and fasten them with the supplied knobs
(3).
Apply the cable fastener (4) to the top of the handle (5) in the indicated po-
sition and fasten it with the supplied screw (6) and bolt (7).
Fasten the top of the handle (5) to the bottom parts using the knobs (8) and
the supplied nuts and bolts as shown, using one of the two holes provided
for adjusting the height of the handle to the operator's stature.
Align the slot on the switch (9) to the support guide (10) and push the
switch (9) in the direction indicated by the arrows as far as possible, mak-
ing sure it fits securely.
Fit the cable fastener (11) in the indicated position and then attach the
cable (12).
