crossing of electric security gates and even the
presence of another RealPower Wireless can
cause interference and involve disturbances in
data transmission.
Therefore the use of other wireless receivers
may alter or completely inhibit operation of the
Wireless Console due to such interference.
HEART RATE MONITOR
Elite RealPower incorporates a receiver for
chest-band heart rate monitors. This allows it to
measure your heart rate while training and visua-
lise it on the monitor.
The heart rate monitor is not supplied with the
product.
Elite RealPower's heart rate monitor receiver is
compatible with all "standard" transmitters, i.e.,
those featuring 5 KHz transmission frequencies.
Some coded transmitters (i.e. Polar) may not be
compatible with our receiver.
ATTENTION: integrated wireless systems that
measure cadence and speed, in addition to heart
rate, may interfere with the heart rate readings
of RealPower. In order to avoid this, remove the
sensor from the crank.
NOTE: if the handlebar console doesn't receive
the signal from the HR transmitter belt (the left
led doesn't blink), then it could be necessary to
tune the receiver. Check the Help section for fur-
ther details.
SLOPE
RealPower is able to produce very high resistance
levels and in some cases can even block the whe-
el. To avoid this it is possible to activate a special
function of the software that helps the rider if this
situation occurs.
POWER
The power the RealPower roller can develop
is among the highest of rollers available on the
market, and this enables simulation of the majo-
rity of courses.
Power range
The power range covered by the roller is very wide
and depends on the speed. The faster you pedal,
the wider the power range. Nevertheless there
may be extreme conditions where the required
power is outside of the range (too high or too low).
In these cases the roller delivers the maximum/
minimum possible, and resumes working cor-
rectly as soon as the conditions return to being
compatible with the power deliverable by the Re-
alPower. When the required power is outside the
available power range, the roller displays on the
monitor the actual power it is producing and not
the theoretical power.
Accuracy between power on the screen and resi-
stance generated.
Regarding the system for measuring the power, it
should be pointed out that the RealPower is not an
ergometer* and therefore does not measure the
power generated by the rider, but the calculates it
indirectly using mathematical formulas.
Also, there are several variables not known by the
programme (for example: type of tyre, tyre width,
pressure between tyre and small rollers, tempe-
rature, etc.), which have an affect on the power
generated by the system.
Per these two reasons, the accuracy of the value
displayed is variable and cannot be known.
In order to minimise the power value error, every
resistance unit is factory-set before being ship-
ped.
However, it is possible to carry out a calibration
procedure with your own bicycle, if you have an
ergometer. In being done with your own bicycle,
this procedure enables greater precision and
therefore a reduction in the power measurement
error.
For more information on the calibration procedu-
re, consult on the Help (press F1) of the program-
me in the section of the same name.
