Operation

Configuration
Configure the instrument
1. Push until three or four dots show at the top of the screen.
2. Push the RIGHT arrow until "Surveyor HL" shows at the top of the screen.
3. Select Settings.
4. Select an option, then push OK.
When the current user is changed, the instrument settings that are user-specific change to those
of the current user. Refer to the table that follows for the user-specific instrument settings. No
sonde settings or sensor settings are user-specific.
Option Description
Users Shows the list of user names (accounts).
Push
user to a new user.
To change a user name, select the user name and push the RIGHT arrow.
Locations Shows the list of locations. Push
To change a location name or to add a description and/or GPS coordinates
to a location, select the location and push OK.
To remove a location or copy the details of a location to a new location,
select a location, then push OK and then
Offices Shows the list of offices. Push
To change an office name or to add a description to an office, select the
office and push OK.
To remove an office or copy the details of an office to a new office, select an
office, then push OK and then
Date & Time Sets the date and time. Optional: Sets the Greenwich Mean Time offset
(GMT).
Units Sets the measurement units that show on the display.
Language Sets the language that shows on the display.
Quick Key Sets the screen that shows when the quick key is pushed.

Display

Sets the display contrast to automatically adjust or to a set value (0 to 100%).
To set the value of the display contrast, set Brightness Auto to off and then
select Display Adjust.
Sounds Sets the sounds to on or off.
Security Shows the features that are password protected. To change the features that
password protected, refer to
Factory Reset Sets all the user settings back to the factory defaults.
Configure the security settings
Refer to Table 2 for the features that can be password protected.
Each user account has a different password. The active password is the password of the current
user. Refer to Change the current user
