Should the appliance overheat, f.e. if there is no or too little water in the kettle
or if it has already evaporated, the appliance automatically switches off. In this
case, pull the plug and let the appliance cool down completely for approx. 15 min-
utes before using it again.

GOOD TO KNOW

1. Never exceed the MAX marking when filling the kettle as this might cause the
water to splash out of the kettle during boiling and cause scalding resp. electric
shock!
2. Filled to the MAX marking, the kettle holds 1,5 litres of water.
3. Never fill the jug with too little water. The lowest marking (200 ml) has to be
reached every time, otherwise the overheat protection is triggered and the appli-
ance switches off.
4. Always check if the lid is correctly closed and locked before plugging the power
plug into the power outlet. Close the lid by pushing the black plastic surround.
The lid can not be closed by pushing the lid latch button or the metal part on the
lid.
5. Dry the kettle outside as well as the kettle bottom and the appliance base
before plugging in the plug.
6. During heating, you can stop the heating process at any time by pressing the
ON/OFF toggle switch.
7. Should there be too little water in the jug or should the water have evaporated,
triggering the overheat protection, pull the power plug and let the appliance cool
down completely for approx. 15 minutes before refilling the jug with cold water.
8. Do not press the lid latch button during or shortly after cooking to open the lid,
as hot water might splash out of the jug. If you want to open the lid, f.e. to refill
cold water, the hot water remaining in the jug should be poured out through the
spout first, with the lid closed.
9. Because steam has to be allowed to escape from the jug during boiling, the spout
is always open. Therefore, water might escape when the full jug is tipped over
or placed on its side. Consequently, the jug filled with water has to be in an
upright position at all times.
