SOLIS Premium Kettle E_2015 16.06.16 11:05 Seite 63
OPERATION
1. Place the appliance on a dry, stable and even work surface out of the reach of
children, near a power outlet. Unwind the power cord from the appliance base
and place it in such a way that the appliance can not be yanked down by it.
2. Take the jug off the appliance base, push the lid latch button and the lid opens.
3. Fill the jug with cold tap water (please note the MAX marking in the jug, fill a
maximum of 1,5 liters) and close the lid by pushing it down at the black plastic
surround to lock it into place. Caution: The lid has to be closed at all times dur-
ing cooking.
4. If necessary, dry the outside and bottom of the kettle. Place the kettle on the dry
appliance base.
5. Connect the power plug to a suitable power outlet.
6. Press the black dash of the ON/OFF toggle switch down. The interior illumination
switches on.
7. Once the water is at a boil, the appliance automatically switches off, the toggle
switch jumps back and the interior illumination goes out.
8. Carefully remove the jug from the appliance base and slowly pour the hot water
into a prepared jug, using the spout. For safety reasons, we recommend always
pouring boiling water through the spout without opening the lid.
Caution: Always be careful not to burn or scald yourself with the hot steam com-
ing out of the spout!
9. If you do not need any more hot water, pull the power plug, pour the remain-
ing water out of the kettle and let the appliance cool down (this prevents fast cal-
cification).
Notes:
Do not tilt the filled jug too strongly, especially not backwards, in the direction
of the handle. Never turn the appliance upside down, not even when the lid is
closed. Water might escape even when the lid is closed!
Always make sure that the lid is closed and locked before switching the appliance
on.
The jug bottom covering the heating element is made from high-quality stain-
less steel. White residues potentially forming there are limestone deposits that
should be removed as described in the section „Descaling the jug" on page 66.
