Special settings (Menu Special Functions)
Instrument detection settings
The instrument detection system recognizes Aesculap accessories that
carry a code (e.g. argon handle GN 380).
Note
The
(GN 640) will confirm by an accoustic signal that an in-
strument with instrument detection was plugged in and that the in-
strument data are being transferred.

The following settings are available:
• Off: Instrument recognition deactivated
• Default setting: The HF device calls up the factory settings stored
in the accessory. These settings can be changed manually, up to the
maximum value for the respective accessory.
• Last setting: The HF device calls up the setting last adjusted for the
accessory concerned.
Note
When an argon control unit GN 370 is connected to the
(GN 640), the instrument recognition also affects the parameter
settings at the argon control unit GN 370.

autoCOAG activation delay settings
If the activation mode autoCOAG on/off is selected for a bipolar out-
put, the autoCOAG activation delay can be used for setting the time
interval between tissue contact and HF activation.

The autoCOAG activation delay can be adjusted in 10 steps:

turns the setting to step 1.

As soon as there is tissue contact, the
short acoustic signal. When the HF output is activated at the end of
the selected activation delay time, an acoustic signal sounds for the
duration of the activation.
While the instrument is in contact with tissue, the background of the
COAG settings range for the selected ouput is highlighted in blue.
Note
The autoCOAG activation delay allows the operating surgeon time for
preparation without the HF active, for the duration of the delay time.
