exist about the safe condition of the device, the fall arrest block
must be removed from use immediately and inspected by a
competent person.
6.2) Be vigilant with regards to the dangers of electricity wires.
6.3) Always ensure that all carabiners are properly locked.
6.4) The maximum force on the structure in the event of a fall is 6 kN.
6.5) Avoid any slack.
6.6) Wherever possible, the anchor point must be perpendicular to
the working position. If the anchor point is below the work area,
there is the danger of hitting structures lower down in the event of
a fall. If the anchor point is at the side, there is the danger of hitting
structures at the side. To prevent a pendulum fall, the work area or
more specifically sideways movement must be limited to a
maximum of 1.5 m on both sides of the central axis. In other cases,
individual anchor points are not to be used, but rather, Type C/
Class C anchorage systems for example (only if approved for
shared use), or Type D/Class D as per EN 795. The device must be
able to hang freely at the anchor point. Should this not be possible,
or a greater deflection is required, individual anchor points should
not be used, but instead a system in accordance with e.g. EN 795
Class D (tracks) or C (cable) (fig. 6.6).
6.7 - 6.8) Be aware of loose beam ends.
6.9) Always properly lock the carabiner.
6.10) Do not knot the suspension element.
6.11) Do not use in a choke hitch.
6.12) - 6.13) Locking carabiners and/or connectors must always be
protected against cross-loading and bending under a load.
6.14) Do not use over bulk material or similar materials.
Only use the fall arrest block as intended and not, for example, as
a work positioning lanyard, i.e. do not hold onto the fall arrest block
or pull yourself up on it.
