Use
CAUTION!
■
Danger of scalding! This device works with hot steam! Use the device with care and
only ever hold it by the handle while you are operating it.
■
Never direct the steam at people, animals or plants. This can cause severe scalding.
Never attempt to smooth clothes while somebody is wearing them.
■
Only use the device in places where heat and moisture cannot cause any damage.
Shortly after use, place it down on a water-resistant and heat-resistant surface.
■
Never use the device without water to prevent damage to the device.
■
Open the water reservoir only to fi ll it. Otherwise keep it closed during operation.
■
The device should only be used when the control lamp has gone out. Operating tem-
perature has then been reached. If the device is used before the control lamp has
gone out, hot water may escape – danger of scalding!
■
Before using the device, read the care instructions for the fabric which is to be
smoothed. Some fabrics and also leather and suede must not be steamed!
■
Test the device fi rst on a small, inconspicuous spot before you treat a fabric for the
fi rst time.
■
Do not hold down the steam release button continuously during use. This reduces
the steam pressure.
■
Never leave the device unattended while it is connected to the mains power and keep
children and animals away from it.
■
Remove the mains plug from the plug socket after use or when taking a break to
prevent personal injury or damage to property.
Delicate items of clothing should be steamed inside out.
Trousers are easier to smooth if they are hung up by the trouser legs.
1. If you have not already done so, mount the attachment of your choice (see the
"Mounting / Removing Attachments" chapter) and pour water into the water reservoir
(see the "Filling the Water Reservoir" chapter).
2. Insert the mains plug into a properly installed plug socket that is easily accessible.
The control lamp (3) lights up and the device starts to heat up.
If the control lamp lights up during use, the device is reheating. Do not press the
steam release button during the heating process in order not to slow this down
and to prevent a danger of scalding from hot water which may escape. Wait until
the control lamp goes out again.
4. If steam stops being produced, the water reservoir is empty. Refi ll it (see the "Filling
the Water Reservoir" chapter). Never use the device without water to prevent dam-
age to the device!

use. Then move the attachment in strokes over the fabric
and press the steam release button (11) at regular inter-
vals as you do so. However, do not keep the steam re-
lease button held down constantly! It is important for the
