IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Read through all the instructions before starting to use the air condi-
tioner. Keep this manual carefully.
1.
Install the air conditioner in a place that is inaccessible to
children.
2.
Do not use the air conditioner outdoors.
3.
Place the air-conditioner upright on a firm, even surface. Make
sure it is standing securely, so that the air-conditioner cannot tip
over or fall off. Before the air-conditioner is transported, the
condensation water must be emptied out of the outdoor unit and
the outdoor unit must be attached securely to the indoor unit.
Warning: Water can damage furniture and floor coverings or
cause an electric shock.
4.
Unwind the cable completely. A cable that is not completely
unwound can cause overheating and a fire.
5.
Do not use an extension cable or a variable speed controller.
This could cause overheating, fire, or an electric shock.
6.
Only plug the air conditioner into a single phase earthed power
socket with the voltage stated on the type plate on the air
conditioner. Make sure that the electric current is adequate where
the air conditioner is in use. The air conditioner must be installed
in accordance with the local safety regulations.
7.
Press the power key to the OFF position and always unplug the
air conditioner when it is not in use, or when it is handled,
moved or cleaned. Do not tug at the power cable to unplug the
appliance.
8.
Do not point the air discharge vent (3) in the direction of people,
walls, or objects.
9.
The air-conditioner functions best at a room temperature of
between 16 °C and 32 °C and at an outdoor temperature of
between 15 °C and 46 °C. Beyond these temperature limits there
could be breakdowns.
10. Do not operate the air conditioner anywhere near easily
inflammable gases or materials, or near an open fire, or at a
location where oil or water could splash. Make sure that the air
conditioner is not exposed to direct sunshine. Do not use the air
conditioner in a hothouse or near a bathroom, shower, or
swimming pool.
11. Make sure that the air intake vent (4) and air discharge vent (3)
are open before switching on the air conditioner. The air
conditioner must not be located behind curtains or other objects
and obstacles which could interrupt the air circulation. Make sure
that no objects can get into the air intake vent (4) or discharge
vent (3), as this could lead to overheating, fire or an electric shock.
12. Do not unplug the air conditioner while it is operating. First press
the power key (13) to the OFF position.
13. Wait for 3 minutes after switching the air conditioner off, before
switching it on again. The air conditioner has a safety system that
prevents the compressor from being started up again until
3 minutes have elapsed since it was switched off.
14. Do not immerse the air conditioner in water or other liquids and
do not spill water or other liquids onto the air conditioner or into
the air intake (4) and air discharge (3) vents.
15. Clean the air conditioner regularly in compliance with the
cleaning instructions.
16. If the power cable of the air conditioner is damaged, it must be
repaired by a workshop approved by the manufacturer, as
special tools are needed.
17. Always transport the air conditioner in an upright position. If this
is not possible, lay the air conditioner on its side and place it
back in an upright position as soon as you have arrived at your
destination. Wait for at least 60 minutes after transport before
using the air conditioner.
18. Do not use this air conditioner if it is damaged, or shows any
signs of damage, or does not function correctly. Unplug the air
conditioner.
19. Always hold the outdoor unit by the transport grip (7) (Fig. 5),
never by the connecting tube (6). Never leave the outdoor unit
hanging by the connecting tube (6) (Fig. 4).

FIRST TIME OF USE
1.
Before using the air-conditioner, read through all the instructions.
2.
Unpack the air-conditioner, the power cable and all the
accessories. Remove the packaging materials and dispose of
them in an environmentally friendly way.
3.
Place the indoor unit of the air-conditioner on a firm, even
surface. Water can damage furniture and floor coverings. Make
sure the air-conditioner is standing securely so that it cannot tip
over or fall off. A safety distance of at least 50cm from the other
objects should be observed.
4.
Place the outdoor unit outside on a balcony or veranda, or attach
the outdoor unit to an outside wall. Follow the instructions given
under „Installation" and in the separate „Installation manual".
INSTALLATION
The air-conditioner consists of two units connected with each other by
a tube. Push the indoor unit into the room you wish to air-condition,
e.g. near a window, French window or door, or near an outside wall.
Place the outdoor unit, which discharges the warmth and condensation
water, outdoors on a wide window-sill, or a balcony or veranda, or
attach the outdoor unit to an outdoor wall. The outdoor unit must not
be positioned higher than 100cm, as measured from the floor on
which the indoor unit is standing (Fig. 2).
1.
The outdoor unit must always be placed in a horizontal position.
Make sure that no objects can obstruct the air circulation. Small
bolts jutting out from the back of the outdoor unit safeguard a
minimum distance of 3 cm from the wall. A minimum distance of
15 cm at the sides and 80 cm at the front must be observed.
Always hold the outdoor unit by its transport grip (7) (Fig. 5),
never by the connecting tube (6). Never leave the outdoor unit
hanging by the connecting tube (6) (Fig. 4).
2.
If you wish to place the outside unit on a window-sill, make sure
that the window-sill is at least 25 cm deep. Put the outdoor unit
through the open window to outdoors and partially close the
window. Fix the feet of the outdoor unit to the
window-sill with two cavity plugs and screws (M6 x 20). Make
sure the outdoor unit is securely fixed so that it cannot tip over or
fall off (Fig. 9).
3.
Alternatively, you can attach the fitting track of the holding device
(9) to an outdoor wall, e.g. under a window-sill or next to a
French window (Fig. 10), whilst observing the minimum distances.
Attach the holding device to the outdoor unit and secure it to the
underside with two screws. Make sure that the holding device is
firmly mounted onto the outdoor unit, so that it cannot tip over or
fall off. Fix the outdoor unit onto the track mounted on the wall.
Make sure that the outdoor unit is hanging horizontally.
4.
To mount the unit using wall plugs please follow the instructions in
the separate Installation Manual.
