Fault:
Engine not starting
Possible cause:
– On/Off switch set to Off position
– No fuel in tank; blocked fuel line
– Inferior, dirty or old fuel in tank
– Spark plug socket detached from spark
plug; ignition lead not properly fastened
to socket
– Dirty or damaged spark plug; incorrect
electrode gap
– Dirty oil bath air filter
– Engine flooded due to several starting
attempts
Remedy:
– Set On/Off switch to On position (
– Fill fuel tank ( 7.17);
Clean fuel lines ( )
– Use fresh, good quality fuel (unleaded
petrol) ( 7.17);
Clean carburettor ( )
– Connect spark plug socket (
Check connection between ignition lead
