3.1.1 Wall mounting
The fastening materials must be chosen according to the physical charac-
teristics of the wall. The drinking bowl hole pattern complies with DIN
11840-B. It is recommended to install a safety frame around the drinking
bowl. Item number 221973– safety frame size 3 (not included in the
scope of delivery), see Accessories.
3.1.2 Pipe mounting
The drinking bowl can be fitted to pipes with a diameter of at least 1"
(25.4 mm) and up to max. 3" (76.2 mm), using the pipe fastening clip
item number 222019 (not included in the scope of delivery).
3.2 Connecting the water supply
1. Screw the float valve into the left or right hand connection opening.
2. Insert a sealing plug into the connection opening not being used.
The drinking bowl is also suitable for circulation systems.
3. Seal the float valve's connection thread using a small quantity of sealing tape (recommendation: Loctite 55 pipe
sealing cord), and connect the water line.
4. Bleed the water line thoroughly. Install automatic bleed valves as required.
5. Flush the water line, float valve and drinking bowl thoroughly. Newly-laid pipelines can contain
loose production residues (metal filings, sand or deposits).
3.3 Drinking bowl without auxiliary pipe heating (222062 and 222063) – electrical installa-
tion with auxiliary pipe heating – see 3.4
When shipped, the heating cable is fitted so that it can be used for connection from the right. If connection from the
left is required, loosen the screws on the bottom of the drinking bowl, pull out the heating cable cover downwards, pull
the heating cable out of the heating cable cover, and re-install in the heating cable cover in the reverse sequence.
Important! The float valve will remain frost-free only by means of a heated water line or a circulation heating system.
The auxiliary pipe heating must be laid separately for types 222062 and 222063.
1. Before installation, read and comply with the safety instructions in these operating instructions.
2. Ensure that the area around the pipeline is easily accessible and that no sharp edges are present.
3. Connect ("earth") pipelines, protective tubes and sheathing made of metal to a protective conductor.
4. Allow the supply cable to warm up to room temperature +20 °C before beginning the installation.
5. The heating cable's electrical continuity, resistance and insulation resistance must be checked before beginning
installation and also after installation, but always before connecting the power supply.
Important! The resistance value before and after installation must match the value on the product label or in the table
below. A tolerance of + -5 % to +10 % is allowed. The insulation resistance must be more than 10 MOhm. (See: Table 1)

6. Even if neither end of the heating cable is heated, check for damage in any case.
7. Protect pipelines from frost and, if necessary, equip the pipeline with an additional heating cable and insulation.
