32. General safety instructions

Before use

Before starting work, familiarise yourself with the hedge trimmer and its functions and controls.

- Do not use any device if the switch is defective and can no longer be turned on or off.
- Check that all nuts, bolts and screws are tight to ensure the appliance operates safely.
- Never use a device with damaged or missing parts. Have them repaired or, if necessary, replaced by
a qualified technician or specialist workshop.
- When working with or on the device, always wear sturdy shoes, long trousers and appropriate
personal protective equipment (safety glasses, hearing protection, non-slip work gloves, etc.).
Wearing personal protective equipment reduces the risk of injury.
- Do not wear jewellery or loose clothing that could be caught in the hedge trimmer. Keep long hair
away from the cutting mechanism.
- Remove any adjusting tools or wrenches before switching on the hedge trimmer. A tool or wrench
left in a moving part of the machine can cause injury.
