To remove the pump belt
Park the product on level ground and engage the
parking brake before you do this task.
1. Remove the deck belt. Refer to
deck belt on page 24 .
2. Fold the seat forward.
3. Remove the 2 fan covers. (Fig. 57)
4. Do the steps that follow from below the product.
a) Remove the clutch stop to get access to the
pump belt.
b) Loosen the nuts on the eye bolt to decrease
the tension in the pump belt. (Fig. 58)
c) Remove the pump belt from the engine and
the pump pulleys.
To install the pump belt
1. Loosen the nuts on the eye bolt to decrease the
tension in the pump belt.
2. Put the pump belt around the right and left pump
pulleys.
3. Put the pump belt around the engine pulley.
4. Install the clutch stop.
5. Turn the nut on the eye bolt on the idler pulley to
adjust the tension of the pump belt. The length of
the spring must be 1.38–1.50 in.
6. Install the fan covers.
7. Install the deck belt. Refer to
belt on page 24 .
To do a check of the engine oil level
1. Park the product on level ground and stop the
engine.
2. Pull open the operator cushion to get access to
the engine.
3. Loosen the dipstick and pull it out.
4. Clean the oil from the dipstick.
5. Put the dipstick in the hole for the dipstick and
tighten it.
6. Loosen and pull the dipstick out and read the oil
level.
7. The oil level must be between the marks on the
dipstick. If the level is near the ADD mark, fill oil
to the FULL mark. (Fig. 59)
8. Fill the oil through the hole for the dipstick. Fill
the oil slowly.

9. Tighten the dipstick fully before you start the
engine.

To replace the engine oil
If the engine is cold, start the engine for 1–2 minutes
before you drain the engine oil. This makes the
engine oil warm and faster to drain.
WARNING:
engine for more than 1–2 minutes before
you drain the engine oil. The engine oil
becomes very hot and can cause burn
injuries. Let the engine become cool
before you drain the engine oil.

1. Park the product on level ground and stop the
engine.
2. Engage the parking brake. Refer to
and disengage the parking brake on page 18 .
3. Remove all dirt around the oil tank cap.
4. Remove the oil tank cap and the dipstick.
5. Find the drain hose at the right rear part of the
engine. (Fig. 60)
6. Put a container below the oil drain hose.
7. Remove the oil drain plug.
8. Let the oil run out into the container.
9. Replace and install the oil drain plug.
10. Fill with new oil and do a check of the engine oil

11. Install the oil tank cap and the dipstick.

Disposal on page 30 .
To remove air from the hydrostatic
system
You must remove air from the hydrostatic
system regularly to prevent high noise operation,
high operation temperature, component damage,
excessive expansion of hydraulic oil, and decrease
of the drive. The first time that air is removed from
the hydrostatic system, the drive wheels must be set
above the ground. You must also remove air from
the hydrostatic system each time the hydrostatic
system has been opened for maintenance and when
hydraulic oil has been added.
1. Make sure that the hydraulic oil level is correct.
2. Disengage the parking brake.
3. Disengage the drive system. Refer to
disengage and engage the drive system on page
18 .
