Engine brake
The motor brakes the saw chain as soon
as the ON/OFF switch is released or the
power supply is interrupted.
This significantly reduces the risk of injury
from chain inertia.
Chain brake
The chain brake is a protective
mechanism that is activated through the
front hand guard (A). If the chainsaw is
thrown backwards due to a kickback, the
brake will be activated, stopping the saw
chain in less than 0.1 seconds. Regularly
check the operation of the chain brake.
To do this, fold the hand guard forward
and switch on the chainsaw for a short
time. The saw chain must not be started.
To release the chain brake, pull the front
hand guard rearward until it locks.
Attention! Do not use the saw if the
protective devices do not work perfectly.
Do not attempt to repair safety-relevant
protective devices yourself; To do this,
contact our after-sales service or a similar
specialized workshop.
Hand guard
The front hand guard (also chain brake)
(A) protects the fingers, preventing injuries
from contact with the saw chain, in case it
breaks due to overload.
