ROTISSERIE
We recommend that you do not cook a roast larger than 5 pounds on the rotisserie
spit. Poultry should be bound in cooking string to prevent the legs or wings from
unraveling during roast and allow the rotisserie assembly to rotate smoothly. We
recommend using a meat thermometer to check the roasting progress.
1. Insert the pointed end of the spit through one of the forks, making sure the
points of the fork face in the same direction as the pointed ends of the spit.
Slide the fork towards the square end of the spit and secure with thumbscrew.
2. Place the food to be cooked on the spit by running it directly through the center
of the food. Continue to slide the food until the fork is securely imbedded in
the food.
3. Slide the second fork onto the spit at the other end of the roast or poultry.
Continue to slide the fork until it is securely imbedded in the food and secure
fork with the thumbscrew.
4. Check that the food is centered on the spit.
5. Insert the pointed end of the spit into the drive socket located on the right
hand side of the oven wall. Make sure the square end of the spit rests in the
spit support, located on the left-hand side of the oven wall.
6. Slide the wire rack into the lower or upper position and place the drip pan on
this rack to catch the food drippings.
7. Turn the FUNCTION ADJUST DIAL until the function indicator in the display
window points to Rotisserie.
8. The default time is 60 min. To adjust the timer based on the recipe, turn the
TIME/TEMP. ADJUST DIAL to choose the time needed. The timer can be set
from 1 minute up to 120 minutes. If the recipe has a range of time, always
start with the shortest time and periodically check the food. Press the START/
STOP button to start cooking.
9. Use a reliable meat thermometer to check if food is at necessary required
temperature. Use a separate timer to remind you to check the meat
temperature.
10. When the cooking time is up, the Toaster Oven will beep 5 times, the START/
STOP button light will go out, and the Toaster Oven will be turned off. To stop
the rotisserie before the time is up, push and hold the START/STOP button for
2 seconds. The Toaster Oven will be turned off.
11. Remove the spit by placing the hooks of the Rotisserie/Rack Removal Handle
under the grooves on either side of the spit. Lift the left side of the spit first
by lifting it up and out. Then, pull the spit out of the drive socket and carefully
remove the roast from the oven. Take the meat off the spit and place on a
cutting board or platter.
Warning: Always use extreme care when removing rotisserie spit or baking
dripping pan from a hot oven. Always use rotisserie handle and oven gloves.
