TPS/TP/TS TIG
General
This user manual is meant as a supplement of the User Manual TS/TPS
2700/4000/5000 and TP 4000/5000 CEL. For more detailed information regar-
ding the general startup as well as the TIG welding process please refer to the
User Manual TS/TPS 2700/4000/5000 and TP 4000/5000 CEL.
Machine concept
TPS/TP/TS TIG constitutes another link of the generation of digital MIG/MAG
welding machines. In addition to the wide range of equipment of the welding ma-
chine, TPS/TP/TS TIG offers specific additional functions for TIG welding. A se-
cond connection for shield gas provided at the welding machine automatically
ensures the correct shield gas being supplied, when it is changed over from the
MIG/MAG welding process to TIG welding. A change of the shield gas cylinders
at the shield gas connection of the welding machine is no longer required.
TPS/TP/TS TIG is provided with a socket with integrated gas connection. A new
generation of TIG welding torches without torch push button not only supports
the gas connection but is also perfectly suitable for the TIG-Comfort-Stop opti-
on.
Thanks to the TIG-Comfort-Stop option it is for the first time possible to conti-
nuously decrease the welding current (DownSlope) at the end of welding without
requiring an expensive welding torch including torch push button and control li-
ne. The DownSlope is triggered by simply increasing and decreasing the welding
current of the welding torch. A continuously decreased welding current allows a
reliable gas shielding of the end-of-weld crater and an effective crater filling.
An optimum gas shielding of the weld seam is achieved by an intelligent control
of the gas flow. As in the case of the TIG-Comfort-Stop option, this control func-
tion does not require any torch push button nor control line. When the arc is igni-
ted, the shield gas is activated and automatically switched off at the end of wel-
ding.
