Meracus Prosthetic Foot
Product Description
Meracus is an energy-storing, dynamic response prosthetic
foot that consists of a pyramid adapter, J-shaped
composite keel and a full-length composite heel plate.
Meracus has dynamic properties that simulate the
anatomical foot by providing shock absorption during heel
strike, smooth transition to a stable stance phase, smooth
roll-off of the forefoot and efficient energy return during
push-off.
Intended Use
The prosthetic foot is intended to replace the function of
the amputated foot and ankle. The prosthetic foot is sui-
table for moderate to active use, e.g., walking, hiking and
occasional running. Single patient - multiple use.
Indications
Lower extremity limb loss or limb difference.
Contraindications
This device may not be suitable for very low active
individuals or those engaged in competitive sports or other
very high impact activities, nor for patients not able to read
and understand or follow user instructions and guidelines.
Limitations
Weight limitations: for the larger sizes150kg (330lb) and for
the smallest size 100kg (224lb). See detailed information

Patient assessment
The primary user profile is individuals in K-level 3*: Adult
individuals that has the ability or potential for ambulation
with variable cadence. Typical of the community ambulator
who has the ability to traverse most environmental
barriers and may have vocational, therapeutic, or exercise
activity that demands prosthetic utilization beyond simple
locomotion.

Functional life
The prosthetic foot has undergone a dynamic test in two
million cycles, in accordance with standard ISO 22675 (at
a P7 load level for 150kg/330lbs). The expected functional
life of the product is 2-3 years, depending on the patient's
activity level.
