8. Push down on the drainova® Reservoir to remove the orange-coloured safety clasp. Keep the
orange-coloured clasp for later disposal of the reservoir.

Recommendation: The duration of drainage can be shortened by placing the drainova® Re-
servoir at a lower height e.g. on the floor.
9. Open the pinch clamp on the tubing so that drainage can begin.
Please note: The flow can be slowed or interrupted when:
• The fluid has almost completely drained
• The fluid has a high viscosity
• The safety valve is blocked due to a clot* or a protein thread

10. When you have reached the drainage amount recommended by your doctor, stop drainage by
closing the pinch clamp. The top stop button shows you the drained amount. You can record the
amount in the drainage log chart on page 4.
