4. Insert the safety valve into one of the open alcohol wipe sachets and clean the valve using gentle
circular movements. Leave the safety valve in the sachet whilst carrying out steps 5 - 7.
Warning: Do not use Octenisept® or other disinfectants containing iodine.
5. Open the packaging of the drainova® Reservoir and take it out.
The product in the packaging is sterile. It is important that the access tip on the tubing remains
sterile. Place the drainova® Reservoir next to the blue drape.
Remove the tape wrapped around the coiled up tubing.
6. Hold the base of the access tip in one hand. Completely close the pinch clamp on the tube with
the other hand.
7. Continue to hold the access tip at the base and carefully remove the protective film from the
access tip (if necessary by gently rotating).
8.1 Remove the alcohol wipe sachet from the safety valve and insert the access tip in the safety
valve. Ensure that the safety valve and the access tip are securely connected during drai-
nage. A click can be heard and felt when connected.
