Important information on EN 179
The DT 400c FH is designed for mounting on solid leaf doors.
Before fitting a DT 400c FH to a door, the door should be checked to ensure that it is properly
hinged. We recommend checking if the door design is suitable for use with the DT 400c FH.
When using door seals (e.g. profile seals, floor seals), it should be ensured that these do not
hinder the intended function of the DT 400c FH.
The appropriate size (backset, faceplate width) of the DT 400c FH must be selected for the door
leaf.
The DT 400c FH as a Class 2 emergency exit device (normal projection) should be used where
the width of the escape route is limited or the doors on which DT 400c FH are to be installed
cannot be opened to more than 90°.
If the DT 400c FH is fitted to glazed doors, the glass parts must be made of safety glass or
laminated safety glass.
The DT 400c FH is not suitable for use on swing doors.
When installing the DT 400c FH, the mounting instructions must be followed carefully. These
instructions and all maintenance instructions must be handed to the operator by the installer.
Generally, the operating device should be installed at a height between 900 mm and 1100 mm
above the surface of the finished floor, with the door closed. If it is known that the majority of the
users of the building are small children, a reduction of the height of the operating device should
be considered.
When installing emergency exit devices with handle actuation (DT 400c FH), especially on doors
with stepped surfaces, any possible safety risks, e.g. fingers getting caught or clothing getting
caught, should be avoided as far as possible.
The locking elements and locking counterpieces (striking plates) have to be installed in such
a way to make it safe to reach into the installation. It must be ensured that the projection of the
locking elements in retracted position does not hinder the free movement of the door.
