13. Cleaning and maintenance
13.1
Cleaning
Note
Damage to product due to incorrect cleaning
•
Do not use cleaners containing alcohol, organic solvents or thinners.
•
Do not use abrasive materials.
•
Do not use pressure or steam cleaning devices.
•
Only clean the outer surface of the product if necessary.
•
Clean the outer surface of the product with a dry, soft cotton cloth or a damp cloth with
a little washing-up liquid or neutral detergent.
13.2
Maintenance
The product is maintenance-free (except outdoor version) apart from the requirement to change
the batteries.
Note
Damage to product due to incorrect maintenance
•
Do not carry out repairs.
•
Do not use lubricants.
•
Contact the manufacturer in the event of damage / malfunctions.
•
If the product and/or the battery compartment are damaged (e.g. due to falls or
collisions), also check the batteries for damage.
•
In case of visible damage to the batteries or leaking battery acid, remove the batteries
immediately and dispose of them properly in accordance with national regulations.
Avoid contact with the battery acid.
•
If parts have to be replaced, always use original replacement parts from HÄFELE.
For outdoor installation, the maintenance instructions specific to the outdoor version
must be followed. ( 4.4 Installation conditions for the outdoor version, page 42).
If the product is mounted on an escape door pursuant to EN 179 / EN 1125, special
maintenance instructions apply. ( 14.6 Maintenance instructions, page 63).
13.3
Changing the batteries
If the battery charge is low, the red and white LEDs flash alternately three times when the
electronics are switched on by presenting a user key.
Note
Malfunction due to low battery charge!
Problem-free operation is only ensured with fully charged batteries.
•
Replace weak batteries immediately as soon as the signal occurs!
•
If the batteries are discharged, battery acid may leak out. Remove leaking batteries
immediately and dispose of them properly in accordance with national regulations.
Avoid contact with the battery acid.
•
Only use new and recommended batteries. 3. Technical data, page 39.
•
Always replace all batteries.
