• It is forbidden to access the device opening in any way. Repairs may only be carried out by person-
nel authorised by the manufacturer. Unauthorised repairs invalidate the warranty and may pose a
danger to the user.
• Interactions: the materials used in the device are biocompatible materials and comply with statutory
regulations, however possible allergic reactions cannot be completely excluded.
• Use the medicine as soon as possible once it has been opened and avoid leaving it in the ampoule
body; once therapy has ended, do not leave the medicine inside the ampoule body and proceed
with hygienic preparation.
• The nasal douche should not be used as a toy. The utmost attention should be paid when used
by children.
• Do not use the device while driving, or in any other situation where you should not be distracted in
order not to endanger yourself, people or pets nearby and the objects around you.
• If not using the appliance for a long time, remove the batteries, as they might oxidise and damage
the contacts inside the device.
• The warranty does not cover the batteries or any damage caused by unsuitable, depleted or improp-
erly stored batteries.
• Suffocation risk:
- Some components of the device are small enough to be swallowed by children, therefore, keep
the device out of the reach of children.
• Fire risk:
- THIS device is not suitable for use in the presence of an anaesthetic mixture that is flammable with
air, or with oxygen or nitrous oxide.
- Do not place the device and the batteries near sources of heat, light or in excessively hot and
humid premises. Store as described in the chapter on environmental conditions.
- Never use batteries other than those described in this user manual
- Only use batteries of known makes. Always replace both batteries, do not use old and new batter-
ies together. AA alkaline Ni-MH or Lithium batteries can be used, provided that the latter comply
with IEC 60086-4 (if not rechargeable) and IEC 62133 (if rechargeable).
• Risk of electrocution:
- Do not use the nasal douche unit in humid environments (e.g. while bathing or showering).
- Do not wash the douche compressor body (5) under running water or by immersion.
• Risk of ineffectiveness of therapy:
- Do not obstruct the suction valve at the bottom of the douche compressor body (5); never put
anything in its cover.
- In the case of substances that are too dense, dilution with suitable saline solution may be neces-
sary, as prescribed by a doctor.
- Observe the hygienic preparation of the spray chamber as described under Hygienic Preparation.
- Only use original Flaem spare parts, no liability is accepted if non-original parts are used
- The average life of the batteries depends on their make
- It is very important to use batteries of the same make and type
• Risk of infection :
- Personal use of the nasal douche is recommended to avoid any risk of infection.
- Follow hygienic preparation before each use. Ensure that the douche and its parts are not stored
in the vicinity of other components or devices for different therapies (e.g. infusion devices).
- Once the therapy is over, do not leave the liquid used (drug or saline solution) inside the ampoule
body.
• Risk of injury:
- Do not place the medical device on a soft supporting surface such as a sofa, a bed or a tablecloth.
- Do not use the device outside of its intended use, the air generated by the compressor is available
to the douche compressor body, this can cause a potential hazard.
