4.2 The middle four indicator lights are the yellow zone (Fig. 2-2).
There is too much force being applied. Back off slightly to
return to the green zone.
4.3 The top three indicator lights are the red zone (Fig. 2-3). When
these are illuminated, there is overload. Back off immediately
or CutSmart™ will turn off the motor.
4.3.1 If CutSmart™ is triggered, the operator will be required

For tapping operations, first ensure that the green LED light is
illuminated, indicating optimum adhesion.

Use the speed controller (RDC4124) on the top cap housing
(RDC4145) to dictate the speed. Always use speeds that are
recommended for the drill size being used.

Ensure motor is on and in the forward direction.
8.
Drill the hole to the recommended tapping size for the thread that
is to be cut.
9.
Without disengaging the magnet, replace the drill with the tap.
10. Set the spindle speed to the required tapping speed, which is as
follows: low gear, speed 4.
11. Start the drill spindle in the forward direction.
12. Feed the tap into the hole until it begins to cut.
13. Once cutting, the tap will feed itself through. Only gentle pressure
should be required.
14. Once the tap has threaded the hole, the drill should be stopped
immediately.
15. The drill spindle should then be switched to reverse using the blue
motor switch (RDC4090) (Fig. 1).
16. Then, the tap can be fed back out of the hole.
17. Once operation is complete, turn the tool off using the green motor
switch and deactivate the magnet using the magnet switch.
