Nur schwerwiegende Vorkommnisse, die zu einer we-
sentlichen Verschlechterung des Gesundheitszu-
standes oder zum Tod führen können, sind dem Her-

Intended purpose
Post-surgical garment for compression of tissue of ab-
domen and leg.
Product features
The lipomed clothing exerts even pressure on the tis-
sue over the entire area. This compressive clothing
supports the retraction of stretched skin and simulta-
neously reduces build-up of oedema and haematoma.
Indications
All indications where compression in the area of abdo-
men and leg is necessary, such as:
• After liposuction
• After liposculpture
• After abdominoplasty
Contraindications
• Arterial circulatory disorders
• Patient is at high risk of thrombosis
• Breathing difficulties

Risks and side effects
If swelling in the genital area or paraesthesia are ob-
served while wearing the compressive clothing, please
contact your doctor immediately. You should only
wear this product for long periods of time if recom-
mended by your physician/Health Care Professional.
Intended users and patient target groups
Healthcare professionals and patients, including per-
sons who play a supporting role in care, are the inten-
ded users for this device, provided that the persons
supporting carer has received a briefing on this from
healthcare professionals. Healthcare professionals
should provide care to adults and children, applying
the available information on measurements/sizes and
required functions/indications, in line with the infor-
mation provided by the manufacturer, and acting un-
der their own responsibility.
Instructions for fitting and wear
des
The doctor or trained specialist must select the cor-
rect size of the lipomed item of clothing based on the
patient's measurements. lipomed products are desi-
gned for unique use by one patient (lasting 4 - 6
weeks) following an operation (single patient use). If
the product is used in multiple instances or if it is mo-
dified, then its medical safety is no longer guaranteed.
Changes to the design, cut and standard model can
result in impairments in the therapeutic medical effi-
cacy of the product and may put the patient at risk.
Changes of any kind executed by third parties shall
render the EU declaration of conformity (CE marking)
required by law for medical devices which is issued by
the manufacturer null and void. Contact with chemi-
cal substances (e.g. benzenes, methanols, salicylic
acids in high concentrations) may impair the com-
pressive function of the products. Oils and ointments
should not be applied to when compression garments
are used.
Length of time that compression clothing should
be worn and used for
The doctor will stipulate the period of time that the de-
vice needs to be worn for depending on the type and
extent of the surgery. Generally, the device must be
worn for around four weeks. To elicit optimal results,
the lipomed clothing should be worn day and night.
In combination with other products
In order to minimise the potential risk of thrombosis,
the mediven struva 23 knee bandage stocking or com-
pression stockings from mediven should be imple-
mented as prophylactic care.
