1 Safety
• Please read the instructions carefully before in-
stalling, commissioning and using.
• Follow the instructions.
• Observe the enclosed safety instruction
sheet for industrial fans and the technical
data.
• Pass these instructions on to the owner for
safekeeping.
Specialist installers, qualifications, require-
ments
The fan may only be installed, set up, retrofitted,
commissioned, cleaned, serviced or repaired by
installers specialised in ventilation techno-
logy. Electrical connection, commissioning, main-
tenance and repairs may only be carried out by a
qualified electrician in accordance with DGUV
regulation 3, Section 2 (3) and in compliance with
the relevant standards (e.g. DIN EN 50110-1) and
technical rules. Further provisions of other na-
tional laws must be taken into account.
Qualifications, requirements: Specialist training
and knowledge of compulsory technical stand-
ards, EU Directives and EU Ordinances. The in-
stallations must be carried out professionally. Ap-
plicable accident prevention regulations, occupa-
tional health and safety measures (protective
clothing in good repair etc.) must be observed. In-
stallation work by trainees is only permitted under
the supervision of the above-mentioned trained
specialists.
2 Scope of delivery
EZQ.., DZQ.., EZS.. or DZS.. wall fan, cable
sleeves in terminal box, these installation and op-
erating instructions, separate safety instruction
sheet for industrial fans.
3 Intended use
EZQ/DZQ-EZS/DZS duct fans are used for air
extraction or ventilation in domestic or commer-
cial areas. Example: Changing rooms, foremen's
offices, workshops, manufacturing plants, ma-
chine or workplace extraction systems, industrial
halls, laboratories, fitness rooms, restaurants or
other commercial premises. Any other or addi-
tional use shall be deemed improper.

Reversible air flow direction. Exception: E-units
with one air flow direction
Operation is only permitted:
• for a permanent installation in indoor areas;
• when installed on a wall, ceiling or bracket with
sufficient load-bearing capacity;
• with permanent electrical installation;
• with free contact inlets or outlets with protection
against accidental contact in accordance with
EN ISO 13857, for example with the SG pro-
tective grille.

5.1 Unit versions
EZQ ... / EZS ...: Single-phase AC versions of
B/D units with capacitor motor, air flow direction
switchable. Reversing mode with approx. 35 %
lower volumetric flow. B unit capacitor ready for
connection. D unit capacitor in separate terminal
box, pre-wired.
E-units with shaded-pole motor, one air flow dir-
ection, no reversing mode.
DZQ ... / DZS ...: Three-phase AC versions of
B/D units with three-phase AC motor, air flow dir-
ection switchable. Reversing mode with approx.
35 % lower volumetric flow.
