4 Installing and connecting the unit
Site of installation
Set up the PerioScan on a solid, flat surface that is able
to support the weight of the unit. Make sure that the unit
is set up stably, e.g. to prevent it from falling over.
Connecting the unit
Let the unit acclimate to room temperature for an ade-
quate period of time before connecting it.
Plug the snap connector (22) of the handpiece supply
cable into the connection socket (23) until it locks in
place.
To unplug the connector, grasp it at its rear end and pull
back the connector sleeve.
Fit the PerioSonic handpiece (13) and screw in the tip,
e.g. SIROPERIO 4 PS, using a torque wrench.
ATTENTION
Before using the PerioSonic always be sure to verify the
correct seating of the sealing ring and check its condi-
tion. If it is defective, damaged or worn, this can lead to
false detection results.
Leave the torque wrench on the handpiece as a tip pro-
tector.
Place the handpiece in the instrument holder (24).
ATTENTION
Risk of injury with the tip exposed!
Plug the foot switch connection cable (21) into the foot
switch connection socket (20) until it locks in place.
To unplug the connector, seize it at its rear end and pull
back the connector sleeve.
ATTENTION
Check the line voltage before connecting the unit.
Plug the power cable (3) into the power supply connec-
tion socket (2) on the unit.
Connect the power plug to a grounded socket-outlet.
Option: Fresh water connection
Plug the fresh water supply hose (4) into the fresh water
connection nipple (5); it will automatically snap in place
when you plug it in. To unlock it, press the small
button (A).
ATTENTION
The unit must be connected to an on-site water supply
*
system
with a free inlet 1.5 – 5 bar.
Be sure to observe the relevant national regulations.
Disconnect the PerioScan from the water supply at the
end of the work day and switch it off.
