14 Troubleshooting
14.1 Procedure
Step 1: Check the system
In case of malfunctions, first check the system or the system part where the
u
product is installed. Check the following items:
• All connections
• Settings. See
g 15. Technical
Step 2: Check the product
1. Make sure the system or system part is not under pressure or voltage.
2. Check the product based on the fault patterns described below.
3. Perform troubleshooting using the information under "Remedy".
If the malfunction cannot be eliminated as described under "Remedy": Disas-
semble the product and return it. See
4. After the malfunction has been eliminated; Put the system or product back
into operation.
14.2 Malfunctions
Error
Possible cause
SREG
Internal communication is disturbed. Possible
causes:
• Internal processing error occurs
• Subordinate SPI communication fails
• Initialization of SREG fails
SPI
SPI communication fails. Possible causes:
• Internal SPI error occurs (communication dis-
turbed)
• SPI timeout occurs (communication inter-
rupted)
APPL

Voltage diagnosis
Error
Possible cause
UQ1 / UQ2
No supply voltage present at
the valve. Possible cause:
• Undervoltage missing
• Voltage missing
• Short circuit
Short circuit messages disappear after the problem is corrected.
OPEN LOOP detection disappears only after the error is corrected and the next
switching of the valve coil.
