• Ensure that the product cannot fall down before the product is released from
the mountings.
• Take steps to avoid damage when lifting the product.
• Wear PPE.
4.2 Storing the product
Damage due to incorrect storage
Unfavorable storage conditions can result in corrosion and material deteriora-
tion.
• Only store the product in locations which are dry, cool, and prevent corrosion.
• Protect the product from direct sunlight and UV radiation.
• Keep the product in its packaging until the time of installation.
• Also observe any additional storage information on the product packaging.
Elastomer parts
Pneumatic components typically have elastomer seals that are subject to a con-
stant process of aging.
• Products that have been stored for longer than 2 years have a shorter service
life.
• The aging process can be accelerated by heat and light (UV rays).
If you are unsure about the status of the elastomer seals, Get in touch with our
contact address. See back cover.
Compressed air connections
• Ensure that all compressed air connections are protected against contamina-
tion by protective caps.
• Tape open compressed air connections or provide them with suitable protec-
tive caps.
4.3 Returning the product
• Before returning the product: Get in touch with our contact address. See back
cover.
• Observe the storage conditions until such time as you return the product.
5 Product description
5.1 Brief description
Bus coupler
The bus coupler is used for electrical control of the valves via the PROFINET-IO
field bus system.
The bus coupler is connected directly to a control, a switch or to another bus cou-
pler via a cable according to PROFINET IO specification.
The bus coupler is exclusively intended for operation as slave at a PROFINET-IO
bus system according to IEC 61158.
The bus coupler supplies the inputs of the input modules.
I/O modules
I/O modules allow electrical input signals and output signals to be connected via
the bus connection of the valve system.
Input modules are used to connect electrical sensor signals. Output modules are
used to connect the actuators.
Each output module has its own M12 connection for load supply. 4 outputs each
are supplied via a load voltage.
Up to 6 I/O modules can be connected to the valve system in any combination.
5.2 Labeling and identification
Product identification
The ordered product is clearly identified by the material number. The material
number can be found in these locations:
• On the back side of the product.
• On the name plate.
