7.2.7 Connecting logic and load supply of bus coupler with M12 plug
The valves and the bus coupler are supplied with operating voltage via plug X10
(POWER).
The 24 V supply can be provided from a common power pack.
Product-specific requirements
• UL, UQ1 and UQ2 are galvanically connected.
• The valves can be supplied in groups via valve supply UQ1 and UQ2.
• All supply voltages must be referenced to the same ground.
Procedure
With self-assembled cabling:
1. Establish the correct pin assignment of the plug connection. See
and
parameters.
2. Connect the operating voltage to the bus coupler using the round plug con-
nector.
DANGER! Danger to life due to short circuits and electric shock! Use power
pack with safe disconnection.
3. Adhere to electrical parameters. See
4. Check specifications of the operating voltages against the electrical parame-
ters.
5. Provide outputs. See
g 15. Technical
6. Select cable cross-sections according to cable length and applied currents.
7.2.8 Connecting logic and load supply of bus coupler with 7/8" plug
The valves and the bus coupler are supplied with operating voltage via plug X10
(POWER).
The 24 V supply can be provided from a common power pack.
Notes
The orientation of the 7/8" plug cannot be guaranteed. Pay attention to the ori-
entation when using an angled plug.
Product-specific requirements
• UL and UQ1 are galvanically isolated.
• U
supplies logic and inputs.
L
• The valves can be switched off via UQ1.
Procedure
1. Connect both 0 V connections.
With self-assembled cabling:
2. Establish the correct pin assignment of the plug connection. See
and
parameters.
DANGER! Danger to life due to short circuits and electric shock! Use power
pack with safe disconnection.
3. Connect the operating voltage to the bus coupler using the round plug con-
nector.
4. Adhere to electrical parameters. See
5. Check specifications of the operating voltages against the electrical parame-
ters.
6. Provide outputs. See

7.2.9 Connecting the 8x I/O modules
1. Ensure that freely accessible conductive parts are protected by a contact
safety device.
Coil LED
CAUTION! When connecting the periphery (I/O interface), comply with the
requirements for protection against accidental contact in accordance with
14
DIN EN 50178, classification VDE 0160 (injury prevention, material protec-
14
tion).
14
2. Wire inputs according to pin assignment. See
14
3. Connect electrical inputs / outputs to the I/O modules using M8 coupling
14
plugs or M12 coupling plugs. See g 17. Accessories.
14
4. Seal not connected device sockets with protective caps to ensure IP65 degree
14
of protection.

7.2.10 Connecting output module load supply
Product-specific requirements
• Requirement of connection cable: see
• UL and UQ1 are galvanically isolated.
Procedure
With self-assembled cabling:
1. Establish the correct pin assignment of the plug connection. See
and
parameters.
2. Connect load supply with M12 plug.
7.2.11 Connecting FE connection
Recommendation: use cable cross-section of 10 mm

To dissipate EMC interference, connect the FE connection on the product to
u
the ground via a low-impedance cable.
7.2.12 Configuring the network
The following example is based on the SIMATIC software from Siemens.
Prerequisites
• Bus coupler is mounted on valve terminal.
• Bus coupler is connected.
• Presettings have been made.
Procedure
1. Assign a device name for a bus coupler participant to function in the network.
2. Optional: Assign IP address and subnet mask.
Otherwise the assignment will be done automatically by the configuration

software.
Configuration
Configuration can also be performed with a different configuration software, tak-
ing into account the described parameters and settings.
Configure the bus coupler system according to the following requirements:
• System requirements
• Specifications from the GSDML
• Manufacturer specifications
• Standards, guidelines and safety regulations
• Documentation of the operator for the configuration of the IO controller
