Protection functions and properties:
• Temperature monitoring
– The device locks out immediately when the preset motor winding temperature, discharge gas temperature or
oil temperature is exceeded.
• Monitoring of rotation direction, phase sequence and phase failure
– The rotation direction is monitored within the first 5 seconds after compressor start (operating recognition). If
the compressor starts with the wrong rotation direction during this time span, the protection device locks out
immediately .
– In the event of a phase failure within the first 5 seconds after compressor start, the relay contact in the safety
chain opens immediately and closes again after 6 minutes.
If a phase failure occurs 3 times within 18 minutes or in case of 10 phase failures within 24 hours, the protec-
tion device locks out immediately .
