EN/UL 60730
• Devices conforming to EN/UL60730 must be additionally protected against cable short-circuits in the sensor
cable , i.e. they must be protected against too low resistance. A short-circuit in the temperature control circuit is
identified as a fault which causes the compressor protection device to lock out immediately .
• Compliance with EN/UL 60730 is mandatory for compressor approval according to UL 60335-2-34 (end use en-
vironment).

Relay versions
In compressor protection devices for 24 .. 240 V AC relays are used, that are designed for 24 .. 240 V switching
voltage. These need switching currents ≥ 0.02 A for long term reliable switching.
In compressor protection devices for 24 V DC relays are used with additionally gold plated contacts. These are
capable of switching max. 24 V nominal voltage at max. 0.01 A without getting damaged. When used with higher
voltage or current, the gold plating is damaged and the capability to switch so low voltage and current is lost. The
relays will afterwards have the same switching capabilities like those of the devices for 24 .. 240 V AC.
