e) Testing three-phase devices

Passive testing

• For passive testing (test object is not supplied with mains
voltage) of three-phase devices, remove the mains cable
from the mains connection (11) on the GT-6000, if neces-
sary.
• The test is carried out using the optional passive meas-
urement adapter by bridging the external conductors L1,
L2 and L3 of the 5-pin CEE connector. Commercially
available passive measurement adapters that are de-
signed for this measuring arrangement can be used for
this purpose.
• Measurement of the protective conductor current/contact
current is performed using the equivalent leakage current
measurement method.
• The test is carried out as outlined for single-phase de-
vices in Section 9a) and Section 9b) (GT-6000 in battery
operation, without mains supply).

Active testing

• Active testing of three-phase test objects is carried out with
the aid of the optional measurement adapter 16 A CEE,
5-pin, active under operating conditions.
• Connect the CEE connector on the test object to the CEE
connector on the measurement adapter and connect the
CEE connector on the measurement adapter to a pro-
tected mains supply (3x 400 V, N, PE, 50 Hz, 16 A).
• Connect the measurement signal cable (low-power sock-
et) of the measurement adapter to the IEC connection
socket (10) on the GT-6000.
• Connect the 4 mm safety connector of the test lead with
alligator clip to the 4 mm safety socket (9) on the GT-6000
and establish a connection with a metal part on the test
object.
• Ensure that the test object is switched off. Accidental
start-up can lead to injuries and damage.
• Press the button (7) to start the automatic test sequence.
