• Make sure that the product is not damaged by falling parts or incorrect tool
usage. The push rod and seals in particular must not be damaged. If neces-
sary, install the product so that it is protected by a cover.
• Make sure that there is sufficient space.

• The linear unit may be damaged if liquids penetrate the actuator during linear
motion. Install the product so that the linear unit is protected from liquids
(material protection).
• Connection to an emergency STOP system: The product does not have its
own emergency STOP system. The operator must decide whether connection
to an emergency STOP system is necessary.
If connection to an emergency STOP system is required: Connect the product
to the emergency STOP system in such a way that an interruption of the
power supply or reconnection of the power supply after a power failure can-
not pose a risk of damage or injury.
Ambient conditions
• Never operate the product in an atmosphere containing oil (material protec-
tion).
• Let the product acclimatize for a few hours before installation. Otherwise wa-
ter may condense in the housing.
• Keep the installation location free from vibration.
• Protect the product from direct sunlight and UV radiation.
• Avoid increased output pressure tolerances: Make sure that high-frequency
radiation from interference-emitting devices is kept away from the product.
6.1.2 Required accessories, materials and tools
Select material and tools that are suitable for your product configuration. De-
pending on the configuration, you will need further accessories.
Mounting material
For mounting, you can use your own mounting material or AVENTICS mounting
material. Respect dimensions and tightening torques.

6.2 Preparation
6.2.1 Unpacking and checking the product
1. Check the material number to see if the product matches your order.
2. Check the product for transport and storage damage.
Do not install a damaged product. Return damaged products together with
the delivery documents. See
3. Prepare required accessories, materials and tools.
6.2.2 Implementing safety measures
Procedure
1. Do not carry out any work on the system during preparation.
2. Close off dangerous areas.
3. Make sure the system or system part is not under pressure or voltage.
4. Protect the system against being restarted.
5. Allow the product and adjacent system parts to cool down.
6. Wear PPE.
6.3 Installing the linear unit
Prerequisites
• All specifications from planning can be implemented.
• Preparations have been completed.

• When installing the linear unit vertically, avoid hazards due to gravity or unex-
pected start-up: Observe the safety instructions. See g 2.6 Hazards.

Procedure
The linear unit is secured via the push rod and mounting foot.
1. If the product is not preassembled: Connect the motor to the linear unit.

6. During installation, make sure that the installation forces only ever act directly
on the center of the linear unit.
7. Make sure that the linear unit can move freely over the entire stroke path. If
necessary, perform a collision check.
