Setting Up
Setup
The extraction unit is a free standing appliance which must not be operated in a lying position.
If the extraction unit is kept in a closed cupboard, the warm exhaust air must be allowed to escape using
one of the following methods:
• External exhaust air duct (see accessories under www.renfert.com).
• An opening in the cupboard back side min. 250 x 120 mm, directly opposite the exhaust air outlet (7).
- Distance from the cupboard back side to the wall:
- Distance from the extraction unit to the cupboard back side: max. 25 mm.
• Remove the back side of the cupboard, distance from the back of the cupboard to the wall min. 50 mm.
If the warm exhaust air is passed out of the opening vent at the back of the cupboard, ensure that the
warm air can escape without hindrance.
Connection
⇒ Insert the suction tube (6) into the suction port (8).
⇒ Connect the suction tube to the suction port on the CAM device.
⇒ If necessary, shorten the suction tube.
Caution, risk of injury!
When shortening the suction tube, please ensure that the integrated wire is cut as straight as
possible.
If the diameter size does not correspond, please use an adapter (see accessories) to prevent a
loss in suction performance.
Long suction hoses, tight bends and kinks will considerably reduce the extraction force at the
extraction point.
⇒ Switch the device OFF at the On / Off switch (9).
⇒ Connect the power cable (5) to the power supply (10).
⇒ Insert the power plug into the building installed wall socket.
To connect the CAM device to the interface socket on the extraction unit (12), please see the inter-
face specifications in the complete instructions for use in the Internet and check the CAM device
instructions.
If the suction is frequently switched on or off via the CAM power supply, it may cause electronic
damage to the CAM system as well as to the SILENT compactCAM.
For this reason it is essential to use the supplied CAM interface for remote control of the
SILENT compactCAM (see full directions in the Internet).
