FITTING INSTRUCTIONS

To fit the R&G tail tidy, remove the rider seat using the key as shown in picture 1.
Remove the bolt arrowed in picture 2 and remove pillion seat.
Disconnect the licence plate illuminator and turn signal (indicators) wiring plug sockets (please note it
is a good idea to mark the wires using a suitable marker) as shown in picture 3.
Remove the four nuts arrowed in picture 4 and gently remove the original licence plate bracket

ensuring the wiring does not catch/snag as shown in picture 5.
If using the original indicators
With the original licence plate bracket removed, remove the two screws arrowed in picture 6.
Remove the metal tube/mounting bracket to allow access to the indicators.
Remove the nut arrowed in picture 7 and remove the original indicators.
Fit the original indicators to the appropriate sides of the new licence plate bracket (item 1) (the small
cut-out/drain holes should point towards the ground when fitted to the motorcycle) as shown in picture
8.
If fitting the R&G mini indicators (R&G product code RG370=bulb, RG371=LED or RG372 for Aero LED
If fitting the R&G Mini Indicators, please use the supplied connectors (item 9) to connect to the
original wiring (If illumination fails, swap the bullet connections around).
It is a good idea at this point to turn the ignition on and check for the correct operation of all lights.
Take the R&G licence plate bracket (item 1 – TB0171) and fit the R&G licence plate illuminator (item
5) to the assembly as shown in picture 9. Use a small amount of superglue to stick the light shroud in
position. Fit one length of the heat-shrink (item 6) to protect the wires and tighten the nuts on the rear,
as shown in picture 8.
When fitting the R&G licence plate illuminator (item 5), please use the supplied connectors (item 9) to
connect to the original wiring (If illumination fails, swap the bullet connections around).
It is a good idea at this point to turn the ignition on and check for the correct operation of all lights.
Stick the self-adhesive foam (item 10) on the top face of the main bracket so it sits between the rear
light and the bracket as shown below.
Carefully feed all the wires through the central hole in the licence plate bracket as shown in picture 12.
Use the cable ties (item 4) to hold the wiring in place as shown in picture 10.
Offer the new licence plate bracket assembly into position as shown in picture 12 while carefully
feeding the wires through the original rubber grommet as shown in picture 11 (please ensure the
bracket does not hit the rear light).
Use the two longer button head bolts (item 2, arrowed B in picture 12) through the main bracket (item
1) and into the forward mounting holes and secure using the original spacers and nuts.
Use the two shorter button head bolts (item 3, arrowed A in picture 12) through the main bracket (item
1) and into the rearward mounting holes and secure using the original nuts).
Reconnect the wiring plug sockets as original.
Re-fit the connectors and check the correct operation of the indicators and licence plate illuminator (if
the licence plate illuminator or indicators fail to work swopping the bullet connectors should cure this).
Ensure the tail tidy is securely mounted and fully tightened.
Re-fit the pillion and rider seats.
