The cooking surface
We recommend that you use fl at-bottom pans that
sit stably on the cooking surface. If possible, make
sure pan handles do not hang out over the edge of
the cooker. This way, you won't bump into handles
or run the risk of small children grabbing them.
We suggest you use the front burners for large
pots and pans, because the front of the cooker
is easier to access. Also, this will prevent the
back wall from becoming stained or discoloured
due to the power of the burners. The cooking
surface is equipped with Dual Fuel burners. Dual
Fuel burners are mix burners with an inner burner
ring that functions independently from the outer
burner ring. This means you can use the inner
burner, which has a minimum capacity of 0.23
kW and a maximum capacity of 0.90 kW, or the
entire burner which provides a minimum capacity
of 1.17 kW and maximum capacity of 4.5 kW.
Make sure the burners are always positioned
correctly to prevent malfunctioning. See fi gure to
the right for the correct positioning.
Light the burners as follows:
• Press down the required burner knob. The spark
ignition will start to make a ticking sound and
will be active for all burners at this point.
• Turn the knob to the desired heat setting.
• Keep the knob pressed down for about 5 seconds
to keep the flame alight and to activate the
thermocouple protection*.
• As soon as the burner is lit, you can adjust the
heat setting. You can light the inner ring or the
whole burner by turning the knob to the desired
position.
*Thermocouple protection is fi tted to every burn-
er. This safety device shuts off the gas fl ow to the
burner if the fl ame is accidentally extinguished.
The thermocouple protection is activated or deac-
tivated, depending on the burner's temperature.
For this reason, you must keep the knob pressed
down for 5 seconds until the thermocouple mech-
anism has reached the right temperature. Other-

wise the fl ame will be extinguished, which means
you will have to ignite the burner again.
Fry-top cooktop
The fry-top is a 9-kilo multifunctional cooking
plate which offers a range of cooking options. Our
website features a streaming demo of the fry-top
demonstrating how it works, what its possibilities
are and how it should be cleaned. A DVD of this
demo has been supplied with your appliance. If
the DVD has not been packaged, please send a
request to Boretti.
Ignite the fry-top burner and select the desired
temperature. We recommend that you use a
temperature of between 180 and 200 degrees.
After 8 to 10 minutes, the fry-top will be ready
for use.
As soon as the cooking plate has the right
temperature, drizzle a little bit of oil onto the
plate (never use butter). Then place the food on
the plate. Even though the fry-top has a slightly
longer cooking time, your food will not start to
simmer. The reason for this is that the product is
seared more quickly, thus retaining its moisture.
Note: The temperature indication for the fry-top is
intended purely as an indication. The temperature
of the fry-top may differ.
