General settings
17.5.1
Maximum recording time
The answering machine can digitally save up to 60 incoming messages
with a total length of 16 minutes. The maximum length for each incoming
call is 2 minutes. If the caller's message is longer, the call is
disconnected. If there is a pause in excess of 8 seconds during
recording, the call is automatically ended. When the memory capacity for
incoming messages is used up, no further messages are recorded. The
caller receives a message indicating that no messages can be left.
17.5.2
Setting the volume on the answering machine
If the volume of the answering machine is too high or low when playing
back messages or listening−in to incoming calls, it can be adjusted to
one of 5 levels.

Delay taking the call
It is possible to set the number of times the telephone should ring before
the answering machine takes the calls. It can be set to between 2 and 7
rings. In addition, the toll−saver" setting is available to use the free
pre−remote access function (refer to Chapter 17.10.6).

Message alert signal for recorded messages
As soon as an incoming message or a memo has been recorded, an
acoustic signal is issued once a minute to indicate this. As a result, you
know immediately if a message or memo has been recorded in your
absence.

Listening−in to an incoming message
Incoming calls can be listened to as they are being recorded on the
answering machine without actually taking the call.
