Function test
Testing the central locking
When activating the alarm system being connected to your central door
locking, the vehicle will be locked and on deactivating it will be unlocked
again.
If the function Lock/Unlock with Ignition is selected as option on your
transmitter, approx. 10 seconds after the ignition is switched on with
doors closed, the central door locking locks. After the ignition is switched
off, the central door locking unlocks again.
In case the central door locking does not work accordingly, the electrical
joints to the central door locking as well as the program adjustment
Electric/Vacuum Locking have to be checked (see Programming).
Testing the visual and acoustic signals
Cause an alarm to go off with activated alarm system.
During the alarm all blinker lights should flash and interval horn beeps will
indicate the alarm. In the case that an electronic siren is connected, the
siren will indicate the alarm. In the case of a siren connection, the
corresponding program adjustment has to be chosen (see Programming).
Testing the automatic re-activating
Activate the alarm system and deactivate it again.
If no door, boot or bonnet has been opened in the meantime, the alarm
system will reactivate itself after approx. 90 sec. without locking the
doors. In the case that the central door locking is to be activated as well,
the program adjustment "Lock with reactivate"has to be chosen (see
Programming).
Testing the two hand transmitters
Test all functions with both hand transmitters.
In the case that the system will not react to one of the hand transmitters,
go ahead with introducing a new hand transmitter (see Introducing new
hand transmitters).
The transmission range of the hand transmitter should be 10 m to 20 m,
but can be limited by impediments like massive metal parts or strong
electronic fields.
