Check the ultrasonic sensors
The ultrasonic sensors are supplied with a preadjustment ex-site. The
sensitivity is adjusted correctly if the alarm is set off by the MS-650 when
reaching into the interior of the vehicle.
After you have activated Magic Safe, the ultrasonic sensors need approx.
2 minutes to regulate themselves.
Besides, beating with your hands against windows or the roof of the
vehicle may not cause the alarm to go off.
If by reaching into the interior of a vehicle, the alarm is not set off, the
sensitivity has to be readjusted by turning the adjusting screw of the
ultrasonic electronics to max. and repeating the test.
If beating against the windows the alarm is set off, the sensitivity has to
be reduced by turning the adjusting screw of the ultrasonic electronics to
min. If you give too much sensitivity to the ultrasonic sensors, even heavy
fluctuations in temperature or air movements can cause the alarm to go
off. Therefore the sensitivity of the alarm system should be adjusted very
carefully and properly in order to avoid false alarms.
Hints for cabriolets and vehicles with multi-pitch roofs
For vehicles with textile or plastic roofs the sensitivity of the ultrasonic
sensors has to be extremely reduced or even turned off completely.
Check by hitting the closed roof if the alarm has already been caused by
movements of the roof.
Testing the remaining alarm entries
Check one by one the function of the remaining alarm entries by causing
the alarm to go off in each case. Then count the flash signals of the
Status-LED. If the flash signals do not correspond to the indicated values,
the joints and cable connections have to be checked.
