INTRODUCTION
Using Zip will provide you with the bright light your body needs
during the dark winter months. It can help to boost your energy
levels, put you in a better mood and make you feel more awake.
Light therapy is safe and is proven to help alleviate SAD (Seasonal
Affective Disorder) and the winter blues*.
There is growing evidence that our circadian rhythms are
particularly sensitive to light from the short wavelength part of the
spectrum. Traditional, large lightboxes use fluorescent tubes and
offer high levels of brightness (usually measured in lux) across all
wavelengths of the light spectrum. LEDs lend themselves to smaller,
more portable light therapy designs with a corresponding
reduction in brightness. To help make up for the lack of lux, the LEDs
in your Zip have been specially selected to emit lots more light at
the specific short wavelengths that help to regulate melatonin,
making it a handy, as well as effective, light therapy option.
