5.1. Preparation
A volume of liquid between 0.5 litre min. and 1.5 litres max. is
required to generate steam. Fill the pot with the water up to the
mark indicated.
If the volume of liquid is too small, it may cause damage to
the pot or the hotplate. Always ensure therefore that there is
enough liquid at the start of and during the cooking process.
Then place the steamer tray in the pot. If you have small veg-
etable pieces, insert the silicone pad on the steamer tray. The
silicone pad also prevents adhesion of the food on the steamer
tray.
NOTE: The silicone pad can be used on both sides.
Upper side: the entire area is available for cooking.
Lower side: the mat is divided by silicone dimples, so that
different foods can be cooked separately.
Put the lid, with thermometer inserted, on the pot and heat up
the liquid.
The temperature of the thermometer in the lid should be
between 90 – 100 °C. When the recommended temperature
is reached, open the lid carefully. Warning – hot steam will
escape. Place the food for steaming quickly into the pot and
close the lid again. Please refer to the following table for the
recommended guide values for cooking times.
