For Y-∆ starting, use the terminals of the electric pump power supply cables according to the indications in the control panel wiring diagrams.
19.
GROUND CONNECTION
The Yellow/Green ground terminals in all electric pump cables must be connected to the grounding circuit of the system before
the other terminals are connected. If the electric pump is disconnected, these must be the last terminals to disconnect.
For flameproof electric pump versions, there is an external supplementary ground terminal installed on the mobile part of the
cable clamp. The installer is responsible for connecting this terminal to the grounding circuit of the system.
20.
MOTOR PROTECTOR CONNECTIONS
20.1. ELECTRIC PUMPS WITH THERMAL PROBES
WARNING
All electric pumps (K...-E version) are equipped with thermal probes (terminals marked with symbols 5 and 6) as part of the
standard supply. It is obligatory to connect them to a suitable circuit-breaking device. The probes can be installed in series
with the low voltage control circuit of the remote control coil. The motor can be automatically restarted.
Thermal probes are normally closed bimetal switches installed in the motor windings. Once the temperature rises above 155°C (311°F), these
switches open and break the powering circuit of the remote control coil, thus stopping the electric pump.
The coil is energized again when the probes have cooled (114°C/237°F).
The maximum capacity of the probe switch is 400VA with 250V max and 5A max.
24V 1.5° is recommended.
WARNING
All electric pumps (version K...-...X...) are fitted as standard with thermal probes (terminals marked with the symbols P and
RO and terminals marked with the symbols P and BO). It is obligatory to connect they to suitable monitoring instruments.
The probes can be installed in series with the low voltage control circuit of the remote control coil. The motor can be
automatically restarted if probes (terminals P-RO) activate. If probes (terminals P-BO) activate, the motor can only be
restarted in manual mode after the cause of the over-current has been identified and the fault eliminated.
