The Joining station combines the handling functions "inspection" and "joining".
In the case of the inspection function, certain properties are assigned to differently oriented workpieces by
acquiring data (actual values) and comparing this with predefined values (setpoints).
Operation with MES
During the resetting process, the vacuum ejector is activated briefly to determine whether the suction cup or
the parallel gripper is installed. The parallel gripper would close and the "workpiece gripped" signal would
be present. This would not be the case with the suction cup. This is later used for error handling in MES
operation, since, for example, the caps cannot be gripped with the parallel gripper.
Microcontroller assembly: the station is equipped with a second RFID read/write head. This copies the work
order to the microcontroller's RFID tag.
Operation without MES
Depending on the orientation of the workpiece, a joining process is started or the workpiece is passed
through at the deflector. The workpieces have to be transported individually so that they do not get mixed
up and the joining process is not obstructed.
Distance sensor output signals
The distance sensor supplies both an analog and a binary output signal. The binary
switching output can be adapted to the measurement requirement via a simple teach-
in process.
Thanks to the bus node expansions, the Pick&Place module can be used with various bus protocols
depending on the controller.
