The filter pressure rises 0.3 bar or more above that indicated by the red
needle of the pressure gauge
the filter needs to be cleaned.
•
Stop the pump,
•
Check that the prefilter is clean (remove any build up of dirt as described previously),
•
Switch the multiport valve to "BACKWASH",
•
Turn the motor on,
•
Monitor the colour of the water through the transparent section of the drain union (page 5),
CAUTION:
there will a lapse of a few seconds before cleaning starts (water becomes very cloudy).
As soon as the water in the transparent section of the drain union runs clear, stop the pump,
•
Switch the multiport valve to "RINSE",
•
Turn the pump on for 20 to 30 seconds, this is to remove any dirt or debris remaining in the main valve and
settle the sand,
•
Stop the pump,
•
Switch the multiport valve to "FILTRATION",
•
Turn the pump on.
After backwashing the black needle should re-align with the red needle that marks the filter's nominal
pressure.
If after one backwash (or even two), the pressure does not drop back to the nominal pressure, call your
installer.
8.
WINTERIZING
•
Carry out a prolonged backwash of the filter,
•
Treat the pool water,
•
Stop the pump,
•
Switch the multiport valve to "DRAIN",
•
Turn the motor on,
•
Lower the water level by approximately 30 cm,
•
Empty the filter by opening the lower drain,
•
Close all the valves,
•
Unscrew the motor drain plugs,
•
Disconnect the electrical supply at the switch box,
•
Store the motor in a dry place.
