1. Function
Dantherm warm air heaters are direct-fired units for oil
or gas firing. The heat produced by the burner is
transferred to the air which is passed over the burner
chamber and heat exchanger by a fan.
On DV 45-300 units the cool air is taken in at the
bottom of the unit and the hot air is blown out in the top.
The operation of the unit is controlled as follows:
- When the room thermostat has signalled to the unit
to start, the burner runs with pre-purge of the burner
chamber. Shortly after the burner will ignite.
- When the burner has been working for a few minutes
the air in the heater will have reached a temperature
sufficiently high for the fan to start automatically. The
purpose of this delayed starting of the fan is to avoid
blowing cold air into the room when the heater starts.
From the factory the fan is set to start at a temperature
of 50°C.
- When the room thermostat gives a signal to the
heater to stop, the burner will stop but the fan will
continue to run. A few minutes later, when the
temperature has dropped to about 30°C, the fan will
