Before Use
- Insert a new battery into the battery compartment cover. In doing so, the
positive terminal has to be inserted into the cover (see the illustration on the
cover).
- Slide the battery into the battery compartment and close it by turning the lock
clockwise.
Connecting / changing the gas cartridge
WARNING!
- This appliance shall only be used with the disposable cartridge
WALTER or ROTHENBERGER INDUSTRIAL "Multigas 300" or
"Thermo Roaster Öko Gas". It may be hazardous to attempt to fit
other types of gas cartridges or gas cylinders.
- Check whether all connections are tight before every use.
Proceed as follows to connect the grill to a gas cartridge:
• Ensure that the burner is out and that the gas control and ignition knob is in

OFF position
• Check that the seals
in place and in good condition before connecting the gas containers.
• Change the gas cartridges outdoors and away from other people.
• The threads on the pressurised gas cartridges and appliance valves are right
handed threads. Screw 1 or 2 gas cartridges clockwise onto the appliance
valve until the seal is airtight. Do not use tools for this connection.
• Ensure that the connection is air-tight. To do this, spray a soapy solution or a
leak detection spray onto the connection between the cartridge valve and the
appliance valve. If bubbles appear, the device is leaking.
• If gas escapes from the system (smell of gas), take the system outdoors
immediately to a well-ventilated location away from sources of ignition where
the leak can be safely detected and repaired. Take the device outdoors before
checking for leaks.
• Never check for leaks using a flame; always use a soapy solution or a leak
detection spray! Keep the system under close observance until the leaked
gas has dissipated completely.
