Operation
Driving
Risk posed by abrupt starting, sudden stopping
and driving at an excessively high speed.
ÂRisk of accidents
¾ Drive slowly and brake slowly.
¾ Do not drive at excessive speed.
¾ Never change the direction of travel
without first bringing the unit to a standstill.
Release the parking brake by pushing right through
Î
the brake pedal and then releasing it again.
To drive away, step on the accelerator pedal.

Note
The further you step on the accelerator ped-
al, the quicker the machine will go.
Driving with cruise control N
Press the switch while driving.
Î
3 The forward speed selected at this point (but not
top speed) is maintained.
3 You can take your foot off the accelerator pedal.
To deactivate cruise control, step on the brake
Î
pedal / accelerator pedal until the switch is re-
leased again.
Stopping the device A
Take your foot off the accelerator pedal C or D.
Î
Apply the brake pedal P until the device comes to
Î
a standstill.
Note
When you step on the brake pedal, you
simultaneously switch the cruise control off.
Switching the cutter deck on/off
(model-dependent)
You can switch the cutter deck on and off using the
PTO lever or the PTO switch.
With the PTO lever, the cutter deck is switched on
and off mechanically Jb .
With the PTO switch, the cutter deck is switched on
and off through an electromechanical coupling I .
To switch the cutter deck on, push the PTO lever
Î
forwards until it latches into the recess
or
Pull the PTO switch
To switch the cutter deck off, pull the PTO lever
Î
backwards out of the recess and as far as it will
go

press the PTO switch

Note on the PTO switch
In the case of automatic switching off by the
safety locking system (e.g. reversing with
the cutter deck activated), the switch must
first be switched off and then back on again,
to release the clutch lock.
Adjusting the cutting height Ja
To set the cutting height, press the cutting height
Î
adjustment lever [1].
Note
"4" is the largest possible cutting height
(approx. 10 cm); the cutter deck is located
right at the top.
"Lo/1" is the smallest cutting height (ap-
prox. 2.5 cm); the cutter deck is located right
at the bottom.
Note
Dependent on the model, the control panel
is equipped with an adjustable position
indicator [2]. This helps you find the required
cutting height more quickly.
Mowing
Items flung out (cut grass, stones, etc.)
ÂRisk of injury
¾ Only empty the grass catcher when the
cutters are switched off.
¾ Only operate the device with the
discharge flap or grass catcher attached.
Attention!
¾ Switch the engine off immediately if the cutter
deck strikes a foreign body (e.g. a stone), or if
the device starts to vibrate in an unusual way.
¾ Inspect the device for damage before continuing
operation. In the event of damage, discontinue
use of the device and have it repaired by a
service centre prior to putting back into operation.
¾ Do not activate the cutter deck in high grass.
Start the engine as indicated.

Release the parking brake by pushing right through

the brake pedal and then releasing it again.
To drive off, press on the accelerator pedal.
Î
Information on mowing
Do not mow wet grass. Drive slowly at maxi-
mum engine speed.
