INSTALLATION

Wheelchair Types:
The JAY Shape Back is designed to be compatible with
most wheelchairs with the following exceptions:
Wheelchairs that are angularly adjustable, recline or tilt
and result in a back angle greater than 60 degrees from
the vertical should not be used.
WARNING!
Use with these types of wheelchairs may cause the back
to accidentally disconnect from the wheelchair resulting in
a fall and the potential for serious injury.
Installation:
To install the JAY Shape Back, first remove the outer
cover from the strap assembly. Then install the strap
assembly onto the back canes of the wheelchair by
opening the zippers around the back canes and closing
the zippers again fully, (Fig.2.0).
CAUTION!
Note the height of the back. Make sure the strap
assembly is appropriate to the top of the back canes and
leaves enough room underneath the strap assembly for
the cushion.
NOTE: Align grommet holes of the JAY Shape back
with the grommet holes (if present) on the wheelchair.
If provided, install the wheelchair back cane screws as
shown in, (Fig.3.0).
• Ensure the buckles of the adjustment straps are
facing rearward.
• Adjust each strap individually to achieve the required
tension.
• Then install the cover making sure the padded side
of the cover is next to the back of the client. Lastly,
fold the back flap of the cover over the back of the
strap assembly, (Fig.4.0).
