downward (see Fig. 4, 1. and 2.). Likewise before
starting the travel the crane jib must be lowered and
rested on the crane-arm support of the crane-protec-
tion carriage (to assemble the support see Fig. 3).
Friction Clutches
The motors for crane jib and crane hook are each
fitted with a friction clutch. As a result a fracture of
the cable is prevented from occurring with excessive
lifting of the crane jib or the crane hook.
An excessive lowering of the jib should be avoided,
since otherwise the cables will no longer be suffi-
ciently tensioned: if the cable is unwound further it
can become tangled. If the hook cable is unwound to
the end and the motor continues to run, it is imme-
diately wound up again in the opposite direction. As
a result, the function direction of the cable winding
is reversed!
Additional Functions
The crane is fitted with a two-pole pin strip, that
enables the connection of an additional function
(connection see Fig. 4). This connection may be
loaded with maximum 500 mA at 14 V.
Commissioning the Crane
Before commissioning the crane the travel regulator of
the digital control panel, or the Lokmaus
nitely be set to „0„ and the address of the crane set.
Operation DCC (art.no. 46902):
At works the crane decoder is optimally calibrated to
the joystick Item-No. 10780, but also for utilisation
of the Lokmaus 1
and 2

switch the CV53 to the value 02, you can utilise the
function buttons ‚F1' to ‚F3' with the Lokmaus 2
In the roof of the crane a two-tone light-emitting
diode (LED) is installed, that indicates the respective
function selected by means of a different flashing
rhythm and which one should observe with every
actuation of the corresponding buttons and the
travel regulator.
The four operating functions of the crane are (opera-
tion with a Lokmaus

3. Raising and lowering the crane hook
CV53 = 01: ‚V' and ‚F1'

4. Additional function
CV53 = 01: ‚V' and ‚F1' off:
CV53 = 02: ‚V':
Variable transformer to the left = OFF, to the
right = ON
– LED lights up RED
Operation Märklin*/Motorola (art.no. 46903):
The selection of the individual operating functions
is carried out by means of the „OFF„ button. In the
roof of the crane a two-tone light-emitting diode
(LED) is installed, that indicates the respective func-
tion selected by means of a different flashing rhythm,
and which one should observe with every actuation
of the „OFF''-button or the travel regulator.
The four operating functions of the crane are:
1. Rotating the crane:
– LED (GREEN) flashes in single-cycle interval
2. Raising and lowering the jib:
– LED (GREEN) flashes in two-cycle interval
3. Raising and lowering the crane hook
– LED (GREEN) flashes in three-cycle interval
4. Additional function
– LED lights up RED
The selection of the functions of 1 – 4 is carried out
singly by briefly pressing the "OFF"-button.

control panel, their direction- and speed is control-
led using the travel regulator of the Lokmaus
control panel respectively. The movement direction is
thereby produced by switching over the travel direc-
tion (as with locomotives). If one switches over to
another operating function, although the movement
of the previously selected function is still running,
the movement of the previous function is stopped
and the newly selected function starts immediately
in the direction and with the speed that is specified
by the controller setting at that moment. In order to
prevent triggered, unwanted movements, it is rec-
ommended to set the travel regulator to "0" before
any switch of the crane functions.
